Pharmacy Technician Student Spotlight Awardee: James Ramos

Pharmacy TechnicianRecently, Linda Madsen, Bay Area Medical Academy’s Pharmacy Technician instructor, chose James Ramos as her Student Spotlight Awardee for Summer 2018.

The award is given to a student for outstanding scholastic achievement and excellence.

So let’s find out a little more about James.

Before coming to Bay Area Medical Academy, James had already gained some Pharmacy experience. “I attended the University of San Carlos in the Philippines and obtained my Bachelor’s in Pharmacy. When I was doing my externship at a local hospital, I assisted a Pediatric Pharmacist in compounding a suspension medication for one of her parents,” says James.

“That experience left me humbled knowing my small assistance was going to help improve the life of a child. From that point on, my passion for healthcare and pharmacy blossomed and I knew I’d took the right path. It’s exciting just to see discoveries expand and grow in today’s pharmaceutical industry. Whether it’s advanced drug delivery systems or drug targeting, it’s amazing to see how technology can help elevate today’s industry, and I want to contribute my education to my chosen field.”

James has clear goals for when he graduates Bay Area Medical Academy’s Pharmacy Technician Program. “Hopefully I can work as a Pharmacy Technician to gain more experience in the pharmacy setting before applying to graduate school,” says James.

“Other than that, I hope to go on fun adventures and explore the world! If there’s one piece of advice I can give to the future students, it’s this: when there’s something you really want, fight for it. Never give up no matter how hopeless it may seem.”

Congratulations, James!
